Jason hates to dress up, and only does so when he absolutely has to. Normally, he can be found wearing slacks and a polo shirt under his Professor robes. When off duty, he prefers jeans and a t shirt, and if it's warm enough...shorts. He hates shoes, and only wears them at work. Of duty, he will wear sandals, if he has to wear anything at all.
His hair length varies, though he does like to keep it no longer than past his shoulders most of the time. Any longer, and it would not feel right to him. He has a two inch scar on his right forearm, the result of a nasty broken bone suffered when he fell out of a tree when he was eight years old. He is normally clean shaven, but has been known to sport a goatee at times. Finally, his smile, he has been told, is his best feature, and he loves to flash it whenever he can.

DETAILED:
(Jason is about as easygoing as anyone can be. He is down to earth, kind, and empathetic, and would not hesitate to call someone friend moments after meeting them for the first time. More than likely, he would be trying to help that person not long after. He was raised to respect others and to always give them the benefit of the doubt, and this has often resulted in some less than honorable people taking advantage of him. He can be perceived as slow and too trusting, but he does not mind. He would rather help someone that did not need it than not help someone who really did.
There was a reason he was in Ravenclaw as well. He is very book smart, and clever, but does lack in common sense and "street smarts". Another reason people can take advantage of him. He is athletic, but not a superstar. He enjoys all kinds of sports, even muggle baseball, and takes care of his body, but he would never make it as a professional athlete.

DETAILED:
Jason is the oldest child of Dalton, an auror, and Christy, an auror at the ministry, Knox. He was quite the surprise as both his parents thought that Christy was unable to have children. So, when he did arrive, the party thrown lasted for days! He was raised in a loving, nurturing home, and while he was certainly not spoiled, his parents made sure he had everything he and his two younger sisters needed. His family was well thought off, but not considered elite due to their dislike of what his father called "pureblood snobbiness". Both of his parents are pure, but do not think any less of anyone that is not, a trait that they have passed on to their children.
Growing up, Jason was a happy go lucky child, and went out of his way to make friends and be liked. However, this made him naive and easy to push around, so he was very often the target of bullies. His desire to always keep his nose in a book did not help, though it did make him an ideal Ravenclaw. He always had a sense that he needed to do the rig ht thing, even though when it was difficult. His courage, however, was late coming as for the first few years in Hogwarts, he remained a target of the bullies. Until one day, he had just about enough of being pushed around, and finally fought back when a group decided to torment him and a friend for weeks on end. Using all the hexes and jinxes he had learned in this three years, he sent a very clear message that he was not to be picked on anymore.
Upon graduation, Chris knew that he wanted to do something to not only help people, but that would test his mind as well, so he decided to follow in his mother's footsteps and become an auror. Though, after a few years, he found the work less than fulfilling, so when the position of DADA professor at Hogwarts opened, he jumped at the chance.
R O L E P L A Y
Sitting at the bar of The Three Broomsticks, Jason took a small sip of his ale and exhaled a deep breath. This had been one of the good days. The term had just started, and normally by this point, he would have had a foot long list of trouble students to deal with. Ravenclaw may be the house of the clever, but in his experience, that attitude often lead to recklessness, which rarely led to good things for the Head of House. However, this year promised to be different. He thought that he had a pretty good group of kids, and looked forward to meeting, and working with each and every one.
He was along tonight, but that was normal. He was close to his family, but his parents lived in London and both of his sisters lived elsewhere. Plus, they had their own lives and he could not expect them to ensure that he wasn't lonely. He hated it, but he was used to it. As an healer, he had pushed away the idea of becoming close enough to a woman to start something serious with. The dangers of the job and all, but now that he was in a more secure position, he thought it would be quite nice to finally settle down. He wasn't getting any younger, that was for certain.
These were the thoughts going through his head as he downed the rest of his ale. No reason to get depressed now, he had papers to grade and lessons to plan. No better time than the present to get started. He placed a galleon on the bar and made his way out. Yeah, it was a good day.
